Looks like the Blacksburg weather followed me…
Why when I leave, is it 60 in Blacksburg and snowing in Italy. I know you miss me Blacksburg, but you really need to go back home…
Regardless, Tuscany looks beautiful in the snow. And the city of Siena does too. I love how snow makes everything so much quieter. Yes, I am still fascinated by snow, regardless of how much I hate being cold.

Livio with a "zucca dulce" he called it - sweet pumpkin |
During the snow day we had on Wednesday, Livio, my host dad, took me around his garden and “mini farm”. I helped feed the chickens, and held bunnies! I even held a little baby bunny! So precious. One of the baby bunnies got loose so I had to catch it and it had the highest little squeal.
The day before the snow came in, we went to the Siena Museo Civico, in Piazza del Campo. It had a great view of the city from up top and the walls and ceilings were covered in frescoes. It’s incredible; we just have nothing like that in the states. Every single inch of the walls in each sala is hand painted – they didn’t just rollover large areas with a paint roller. It is almost overwhelming to look at. Of course, every museum visit means I’m writing a paper in Italian on it…
I can’t believe I’ve been here about 3 weeks now. It’s just crazy. My final Italian exam for the intensive is tomorrow, then we’re off to the Alps for four days to snowboard!
