just one of the several pools

    Tuscan country view

Last Friday we went Le Terme (the hot springs) in Rapolano, Italy, about a 20 minute drive from Siena.  It was by far the best way to chill out and relax from the week of 5 hour a day Italian class.  I promise I’m not complaining.  You can’t complain when you’re living in Italy.

The group before going getting into our bathing suits!
The hot springs came with all the features of a spa, but we simply chilled and enjoyed the warmth of the hot springs.  Grant it at first, it smelled moderately of the sulfur, but after a while you didn’t notice it.

My skin felt amazing and so soft after lounging the pools for about 2 ish hours.  I felt like such an American though.  The Italians were quietly relaxing in pairs while there was a group of 20 of us chatting quiet loudly.  Typical.  I played around in the little waterfalls and the view of the Tuscan countryside was incredible.

I took off all my jewelry but completely forgot about my sterling silver turtle toe ring.  I don’t think I’ve taken it off in about 3 years, so of course I didn’t even notice I had it on.  It’s currently a kind of blackish color, so I’ll just need to soak my toe in some sparking water or soda eventually.  I’m not quite sure that I’ll be able to get it off though.
